If you're reading this blog, I hope you are considering having your wedding, family reunion or company fun day at the M Lazy P Ranch. Here's some history about the ranch, as it was told to me by my parents. The M Lazy P Ranch, situated in the Stillwater Valley in south central Montana, is on part of the original location of the Crow Indian Reservation. The reservation was relocated to its present day location south of Harden Montana around the turn of the 20th century and the valley was then opened up for homesteading. Two cowpokes by the name of Weir and Tyler homesteaded the ranch property and in 1920 they build a house, barn and corrals in the coulee that faces south. Some years later they sold the place to a man by the name of Smiley. Finally on October 8, 1954, my grandfather bought the ranch and named it M Lazy P after his own cattle brand. His son, my dad, worked the ranch while grandpa and grandma planned to return and retire there someday. After tons of hay, lots of cows and 3 generations of Masses, the M Lazy P Ranch invites you to come and enjoy the views, friendly neighbors, and fresh air with us!
